New Here? Start with This (Psychology, Actually Trailer)

Welcome to Psychology, Actually with Dr Marianne Trent.

If you’re new here, this is the perfect place to start.

This podcast explores what’s really going on beneath the surface of our lives and within the psychology profession itself. Through conversations with psychologists, professionals, and inspiring guests, we explore the psychology shaping how we live, work, relate, and cope when life doesn’t go to plan.

Alongside expert interviews, you’ll also find reflective solo episodes - including my member's only Inner Work - where I share thoughts, patterns, and psychological ideas to help you better understand yourself and others.

This show was previously known as The Aspiring Psychologist Podcast, and while it still supports aspiring and qualified psychologists, it has grown into something broader because psychology doesn’t just shape our careers, it shapes everything.

Whether you’re navigating your path into psychology, already working in the field, or simply curious about human behaviour, you’re very welcome here.

New episodes are released every Monday at 6am (UK time).

If you’d like to go deeper, you can also join for First Look access and exclusive Inner Work reflections.

And if this resonates, make sure you follow or subscribe so you don’t miss what’s coming next.

Hi, welcome along to this trailer for this brand new upcoming podcast. I hope you like the jingle. I am very much excited for you to have this stuck in your head in the way that it has been stuck in mine for the last couple of months, whilst I've been putting this podcast together for you. I am so excited for you to be able to get your ears around the Aspiring Psychologist podcast, which is coming very soon.

Marianne (:

I am Dr. Marianne Trent and I am a clinical psychologist, and I know just how it feels. I recall it well, to just be striving and really wanting to become a qualified psychologist. And I am on your team. I want to support you in your journey and make the journey as pain free as possible, and maybe even enjoyable too. Hey, who knows?!

Marianne (:

Within the podcast, there's going to be opportunities for you to send in your questions. If you want me to talk about particular topics, send that in as well. There will always be information in the show notes for how you can get involved with any special things that I am talking about, for you to follow up for more information. I am so excited to bring you the first episode. In the meantime, please do sign up to my mailing list, because that way you will be notified when I publish new episodes each week. It is my plan that they will be launched at 6:00 AM UK time on Mondays. Because I know that some of you perhaps have long commutes to get to work, or that you like to potter around whilst you get your morning routine underway and listen to stuff with me in your ears, hopefully. So to start the week off as we mean to go on, in a compassionate, but helpful way.

Marianne (:

I hope you find it really useful. I would love your feedback. I would love your comments, and of course your reviews and your subscriptions to the podcast too. We are launching very soon and I can't wait to bring it to you. Thank you already for being part of my world. And I am looking forward to supporting you in your journey to becoming a qualified psychologist, whatever that looks like for you. Take care, have a lovely day. And I will be in touch very soon with the first of our episodes of the Aspiring Psychologist podcast. Until then, take care. Bye.
